After a break of 8 years, the scheduling conference MISTA is back! After the first edition in 2003 in Nottingham (UK), the conference was organized every two years all around the world until 2019 with the last edition being in Ningbo (China). If you want to learn more about the history of the conference and the past editions, please, go and check the MISTA website.
MISTA 2027 is organized by the Laboratory of Computer Science of the University of Tours (France). This international conference will be held in Tours - France - on June 8-10, 2027 at Polytech Tours (Graduate school of Engineering), located close to the heart of the City and easily reachable by tram.
The conference website is http://mistaconference.net.
The conference covers all topics related to scheduling theory and welcomes both theoretical and more application-oriented contributions. The aim is to bring together scheduling researchers and practitioners from all the disciplines that engage with scheduling research.
The conference will consist of technical and selected presentations as well as keynote talks given by esteemed researchers from scheduling theory. The confirmed keynote speakers are:
- Alix Munier - Sorbonne University (France)
- Han Hoogeveen - Utrecht University (The Netherlands)
- Erik Demeulemeester - KU Leuven (Belgium)
To promote the research done by Ph.D. students from the scheduling community, the Best Student Paper Award (BSPA) will be delivered to the top three papers competing in this category, for a total prize of 1000€ and a special promotion in the conference proceedings edited by Springer.
After the conference, a special issue of the Journal of Scheduling will be opened to all participants of the MISTA conference: submitted papers will be published after a rigorous review process.
All researchers, academics, Ph.D. students and practitioners working on the conference themes are invited to participate in MISTA 2027. Two categories of submissions are welcome:
- Full papers: These papers must present mature contributions and are limited to 8 pages
- Extended Abstracts: These shorter papers (limited to 4 pages) concern ongoing research that is worth presenting at the conference.
Candidates for the BSPA must submit a full paper. Templates and author guidelines are available on the MISTA 2027 website.
All submissions will be reviewed according to the standard reviewing process of international conferences. A selection of submissions will be presented during the conference. The accepted full papers will be automatically published in a volume of the Lecture Notes in Operations Research series published by Springer.
Important deadlines:
- Full paper submission: December 15th, 2026
- Abstract submission: December 30th, 2026
